Cherished Memories......

Was sitting idle and suddenly strike an idea why not write for the place from where I belong to. The place where I spend most of my time..... where I completed my schooling and the place
where I graduated...

Where I had my most memorable moment... YES my first date with Sachin..
the place where we both decided to get married.

Where we took decision to follow each other's religion and took vow to spend our lives together...

The Place I miss the most....

My home town.. Chandigarh :)

Place which I have left now with lots and lots of memories along with. This post I think is going to be mine biggest post ever as am not going to limit my thoughts and just jotting down what ever is coming to my mind....

Where Shall I start from...

Chandigarh the city beautiful..

We shifted to Mohali phase 7 in the year 1994 and from that year till 2004 I spend my time there only. So a decade almost and fell in love with the place and who won't. It is such place..


Okie I'll give a brief history of the place...

Chandigarh is the first planed modern city of India designed by the French architect LeCorbusier...

Chandigarh is famous for following:

• Planning and Architechture
• Quality of Life
• High Educational Level
• Pollution free environment
• Aware and Active citizens

Chandigarh serves as the Joint Capital of both Punjab and Haryana states. Total area of the union territory is 114 sq.km

Although best thing I do want to mention abt chandigarh is that

every sector has atleast:

• 1 school
• 1 market
• 1 garden/public park
• 1 gurudwara and mandir

And it is a common scene to see citizens taking morning and evening walk and kids enjoying the jhoolas (rides) in the park and then yes best thing to mention no markets on main roads so
no traffic jams and proper parking for every market.

I just miss the clean, wide and soothing roads of the place....Trees on both side of roads make the drive pleasant.

Year 1995.... When I completed my 10th in one of the models school.... what fun it was to study there

Year 1997.... When I completed my 12th Commerce from Sri Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary school. Where in I was school head girl (yeah it was again fun to be school head girl) *teacher's favorite* :P and that year I was topper of the school too (only golden period of my acadamics :D)

Year 2000... My graduation completed in commerce... from SGGS college sec 26 affilated to Panjab University Panjab University wherein we spend lot of time ................
Year 2004.... My Post graduation completed ....MCA but that I did from Patiala from Punjabi University

Youth Festivals.... oh what fun were they to be a part of and too visit all that



Then window shopping in sector 17 heart of city beautiful (cudn't afford to do actual shopping there :P) Sector 17 is main shopping and commercial centre of Chandigarh.This vast commercial complex is a pedestrian's paradise with four main piazzas meeting at a 'chowk'. It provides something for everyone, from hectic business activity to unhurried window shopping and even crowd gazing in the vicinity of the fountain. Air-conditioned showrooms and departmental stores cater to the needs of shoppers.

Needless to mention the other places worth visiting....

• Museum of the evolution of life
• Child Art Gallery
• National Gallery of Portraits
• International dolls museum
• Punjab Kala Kendra
• The Rock Garden..... We had spend time there too :">

It is created by Nek Chand and spread over 64 acres. Thevisitors are led through a maze of paths, chambers and canyons,each presenting a glimpse of a fantasy world. it is unique in its kind and is made by cutting the rocks and using all waste and discarded products.

• Sukhna Lake...

The most memorable one for both of us...
Its a man made lake spread over 3 square kilometers. This is favorite spot for bird watchers too. As from December through February, one can see many species of aquatic birds from Central Asia and Siberia. yeah these are the stairs where Sachin and I sat for the first time and he asked very hesitantly "Can I hold your Hand?" And the next question was "What next?"
And I replied "We getting married" :">

hmm although after marriage we didn't get chance to go back there... hopefully this time we'll make it :)

• Leisure Valley
• Bougainvillea Garden
• Zakir Rose Garden

... Named after India's President, Zakir Hussain, the garden was established in 1967 under the guidance of Chandigarh's first Chief Commissioner Dr M.S. Randhawa. The largest Rose Garden in Asia, it is spread over an area of 27 acres and has more than 17,000 plants representing some 1,600 varieties of roses as well as several fountains.his garden is the venue of the annual Rose festival, an event listed on the national calendar of fairs and festivals. This is one of the main
cultural events of the city and draws thousands of visitors.
And Yes I do miss the Rose Festival........
What a huge crowd it draws every year and now haven't been to the festival for last 2 yrs....

India , a country of religions , festivals and colors . Holi is a festival of colors .. and this year we missed it . Here is a poem I got as forward from a friend of mine .. I love water bodies especially if it's flowing just like a waterfall. I just love to touch it and it's so chilled that it gives a soothing effect and I feel as If am very relaxed. Right now am recalling few of them which I saw on the way to GOA. Have some awesome pics also of that....

Yeah it's going to be a long weekend as my cousin is coming so we are going to have fun all the time ..... I have already taken leave for monday. Wow am so excited... [:)] So have lots of things in To Do list. :) And the gals going to rock.

Precisely before you wonder this title ,I would tell you that since I could not think of anything else and did not have patience of thinking , I just kept this ..

There had been a long time since I have written something to blog , and Anjan too other then posting some forwards and things here and there had not done much . Reason is we both are pretty bored of the way life is progressing ..

There is nothing much happening in life front . No excitement, no expectations nothing doing .. I have been promising her to take her out for a movie and it has been 3 months hence . Just promises not kept ...

The routine is boring ..office work , home food and sleep .. got to do something out of it ... but donno what ..

My confirmation review is round the corner .. donno what will happen .. need wishes of all of you friends who are reading this .. will update u once it done .. Althought it will not make any difference to job still just a mental blockade ..

So the only thing is i will try and be more frequent to this post .. Also pour in suggestions to make things interesting ... :)

Hey We are back

Yeah we are back to blog blog blog :D Okie my training got over and sachin is back from Mahabaleshwar. So have lots of work to do now and even have to complete the tag by Manish hmm chalo catch u guys later with some new post okla

What a tragedy !! Going to mahabaleshwar without biwi wo bhi Shaadi ke sirf 1.5 saal baad. I have a offitial meeting there .. I will miss preeti ( you all know her by the name of Anjan) soo much there.

Three days of gruelling raining and these ppl expect us to get up at 6:30 in morning huh .. that too after night long of dance , masti and... beer offcource ..

let's ee how it turns out .. i and anjan are planning since long to go out but it is only in plannign state ..

The nostalgia ..

After long time absenteeism I am back . I need to be constantly bugged for doing anything .. Anyways , the nostalgia , as we had been talking about .. this is phenomanal you live your life thru certain ways and then u walk over to next destination . Still sometimes you wish to visit them , relive them . The days of adolecense , childhood and youth .. well 2006 is the year when we all touch 30 , a year for another change . A time to set new destinations and to find new ways .. then soon there would be concluding lines of this poetry called life..

Those were the days..................

Well I was remembering my college days today, my old friends and then I was chatting today with my long time chat friend Ranjan, whom I know for last 5 yrs. We were remembering our old talks and the topics we used to discuss and then remembered all my college friends and then suddenly it strike to me to put here a collage made by Sachin while he was remebering his old days, all his childhood friends with whom he is still in touch, Siddhartha Mathur, Uttam Mathur, Gaurav Sharma, Manish Chaturvedi, Akhil Bhansali and Ashish Daga. All of them are now located at different locations of this world except Sidds as he is working in Hyderabad only .But still they all have golden memories their heart.
Few days back he got a forwarded mail upon which he along with Sidds, Uttam and Gaurav did some enhancements and pen down their feelings. Sachin collated them into one and prepared this collage.....
In this the last 5 stanza's are the one which were forwarded and these guys took that as base and made their contributions to it.
Well in this you can find sachin in white t-shirt with a huge smile on his face.

Here come's lohri...Celebrated on 13 th January every year. My favorite festival but I cannot celebrate it as being in south India no one celebrates and then there are very few punjabi people here... it's not cold here so can't feel the lohri's smell in air :(

Me missing my mom n dad.... my sisters with whom I used to fight a lot.

I remember the way we used to celebrate lohri there..
All colony ppl used to pool up and used to make one huge bonfire...
We all used to surround it with elders sitting on chairs and kids used to play having fun... with everyone chanting :

Sunder Munderiye ho.
Tera kaoun Vichara..ho
Dulha bhatti wala ... ho
Dulhey ney tee vihayee ... ho
Sear shakar paayee... ho
Kuri de bojey paayee... ho

People taking parikarma (moving around) the bonfire and then after puja distributing the prasad mostly of til, gur, gajak, moongfally, phulley and pop corn.

having fun and then little kids from nearby used to come and ask for lohri sweets by chanting..

and when they used to get sweets they used to say bye by chanting..

but if they were denied at someone's house pat comes the reply from those kids..

What a fun man... Really missing all that.
It was a tradition that compulsory mom will make sarson ka saag and makki ki roti for dinner..

I remember even we used to celebrate lohri in our school and even when in college too...
It was so much fun to celebrate with friends during noon and then wiht family and neighbours ... With the music system playing at it's pitch and all galiwala's dancing till their breathe...

Wish we can celebrate our next lohri with our parents next year..

As am missing lohri I know sachin missing his makkar sakranti very much..
He has told me about his passion for flying kites and how all the family members will gather at terrace and even food was being cooked on terrace. Sachin and his friends would gather and fly kites , play blarring music and have lots of fun.

I wish to see that also....

New Year Resolution

He he he.... me again with some online tests...

So finally TGIF ( thank god it's friday) . The work week is about to end and a weekend to start...

The Birthday Breakfast !!!

Yesterday was the most memorable day of my life.......
Sachin gave me surprize by waking me up at 12 a.m. with a lovely, yummy choclate cake (being tired I slept early and he so sweet kept himself awake). Cake was just wonderful (will post it's pic to tomorow)... as it was melting in mouth.. THanks sachin.. and then phone calls from both of our parents wishin me was good enough and then the door bell rang up ... lo here was flower man standing with bouquet of roses.... so nice start. And then on reaching office got to know abt Neetie's Post and she made me feel so special that she wrote a post for me. That too at 12 a.m. isn't that cute of her and it was simply amazing so many people wishing me..It was just wonderful and memorable. Thanks NEetie.
Okie then we had a nice food at "Dastar" which I relished the most. Day ended with lots n lots of memories and a huge smile on my face.

A look Back at 2005

So the year 2005 is over. A important year of my rather our life.. Waise to all the time is important but this year had been a very significant. The life has taken a definite turn, lot of dreams realized, lots of milestones achieved and lot of things remained unfinished .

The year was significant because

• Anjan (Preeti) started her career. Initially there were hiccups but finally now she is having nice time at job and looks she is learning very fast..
• I took 2 job changes and finally looks as if I am settled for now. Kanbay is a nice company to be in the only concern area is the career growth in next 5 years, still I feel i would like to give it some more time.
• Financially, it was a year of good earnings and more spending, somehow managed to strike balance.. Cleared lot of old debts and now things seem to be on track .. At the start of year burnt hands in share market and learnt it hard way.. Later invested wisely ( at least I think so ) and now things look fine .
• Bought the Home Theater ... :)
  
• Personally I and Preeti became more mature and have now learnt to be complimentary to each other.. Now we have a better understanding of each others need and wishes and have learnt to appreciate them as well .
• Parental side things were and are good..

and yes I touched the 30's

Things which remain unaccomplished .... And to accomplish in 2006

• Yet to channel-ise career goals
• Create fund to buy a House by Dec 2007
• Manage finances more professionally
• Try and reduce 6 kg atleast
• Start a workout R-E-G-U-L-A-R-L-Y
• Be regular with this blog

So Good bye 2005
and WELCOME 2006..

It's Monday

Hmm...... Monday is back again :(
Got up at 7.30 and both of us were still sleepy but cudn't help it as maid was there for cleaning up so had to get up but as soon as she left both of us decided to have a quick nap again so went back to sleep at 8 with our alram set up at 8.30...anyways got up at 8.45 and obviously were late for office........

Our New Home theater System- The concluding part

After lot of fuzz , and hrad work , it's here our new home theater system... It's In our home.
I had a dream to buy one for 8 years and finally I have it . Phillips 5106 DVD+ HTR 5000 5.1 channel speakers . Looks good hope it sounds good tooo .

I tried to set it up but culd not looks i am missing some cords. DVD player is working file .. hope to get the system working tonight .

Saturday me in office . disgusting , this month has been hell lot of work . would try to finish off deliveries on time .

Home Theater - Kahani mein twist

Lo Bhai , Kahani mein ek aur twist .. Philips is offering a 8500 WATT perchannel 145 RMS 5.1 channel speaker system only for 15000 , now that is a steel .. Well I need to hear it to believe it .. The Sales manager called himself ( hehehe) and told me this . The model is expected to come on next week mid.
I really want this to be done before my birthday .. and Iam so confused.

Today the day had been pretty hectic . Loads of work is flowing in since quite few days , hope I am able to keep up with pressure. Preeti is not well again but I know my brave BOSHO ( this is what I call her) will come back with a bang.

Saw our new OFFICE Campus yesterday , it rocks .. here is some humor..

Our New Home Theater System

Gosh , i have been doing lot of reasearch on the home theater thing .. 49 forums , over 1000 posts innumerable sites , uncounted hours of googling and what not ..

finally I have just zerod down to Philips 5106 K as the DVD player.. It has great features and best of it supports DIVX as well. As if now is out of stock. LADY LUCK listen to my plea pleaseeeeeeeeee.


Now the quest is on for AMP and speakers. ONKYO is the front runner as if now but options have opened today for Philips HTR 5000 as well . I belive all the people in hyderabad who deal in philips and onkyo know me know :( since I have made so many calls to them

Today I even reached to Dy, Manager Sales India and enquired about things. He was nice fellow and helped me a lot. He has offered some discount as well. let's see what I zero down too..


Preeti is not well , and that makes me sad very sad.. hope she gets well soon , a smile on her face makes my day but when she is off or sick I am in bad shape...hope she gets well soon so that quickly go and buy our DVD player atleast...

Golden days of life

Chanda Maama Door ke....
Pooyey pakayein doodh mein..

Those are the days when you are in golden period of life. When you are so small to understand world around. A baby....... having no tensions, no understanding and for baby world is Mom and her lullabies and the most prestigous is Mom's lap..

I miss all those days.....when I use to be with my mom all the time and then when was able to understand things was always asking her for stories....... and she was always ready to tell me one no matter how tired was she....

Then came my sister's in this world and life changed.. I miss all those fights I had with them, those small fights over choclates, dolls and clothes.
Then I miss playing school school., me always becomin teacher with scale in my hand... and yes Ghar Ghar too. ..... There was one more game yeah Raja Rani.. Oh how I loved those days...

Lost Sometimes

Sometimes it happens that you are lost in your own thoughts and don't come to know whats happening around your world. You want to say a lot but don't find words for the same. You know you can do it but still have a fear in back of your mind which makes you doubtful of your own capabilities and you look down for a shoulder where in you can give in and get consolation and hear all the words you feel like hearing...... Why is it that am feeling the same today............

Back from vacations

hey we both r back and yes back from our Luxurious and stressfree life there at our home city to hectic life schedule here at hyderabad. well sachin is too busy at his office today and me totally idle having no work in office today so as a time pass thought of writing today. what should I write ......... umm I don't know but yah made new frds at office today as some new ppl joined here.... Even there was team shuffling going on today and yes sachin is not in good mood today so he's not talking to me much whenever am pinging him at google talk I just get as short reply as he can give. but I know he is not in good mood today so I won't blame him.. I understand his situation. He is going under turmoil where even if I'll try to peep in his heart he'll get hurt. He needs space and time and wants to fight with his battle on his own and I'll support him for this and everyother thing. I know he'll come out of this situation soon. Am with him always and will stand by him in all his decisions........

What else.... oh yah even my house is in mess although I cleaned 2 of my cupboards yesterday but still 2 r left and then there is some setting which I want to change but god knows when I'll get time for that.... and then oh I have my next saturday also working... I hate working on saturdays.... but can't help it have to come this saturday.. uhhh.... this even spoils our sundays..and then v get is monday morning blues .. rushing to everythings like v did today... morniing already late and sachin not getting up at all and worst of it it's 7.30 a.m n am askin sachin again n again to get up or else we'll be late... and then while preparing breakfast maid asking me if she can get tea today...uhhhh already late and still I say her hamida okay I'll prepare but I cannot make it everyday as we get late for office and then anyhow magaing to get ready and have breakfast by 9.10 when v r suppose to leave at 9 a.m. and then getting down already late.... sachin says he wants to take scooter instead of car and just moving few steps ahead realising tyre is puncture...uhhhh putting scooter back in garage taking car out and heading and then worst of it finding huge traffic jam... so reachin office at 10 instead of 9.30 and then finding out that am free for whole day spending my time reading and writing blogs;) while sachin havin piles of work :D
