Story So far....... 2

(Those who have not read part 1 can read it here)
Next day she came online and found him waiting for her, and he burst with a question "why are you late?" she said oh was waiting for papa to go to sleep, they continued talking to each other, she asking about his job profile and he about her education and all. And never did they asked each other's age. They got to know that both reside in opposite corners of country. She was relaxed that she won't be asked by him to meet as every other tom, dick n harry did. Any how he never did so.
Second day he told her about his disability and was wondering whether she will continue to be his friend or not.
She liked his honesty and ready to take challenges attitude, she admired his way of struggling with life, she liked his mature and sensible talks never sugar coated or misguiding her. He was always ready to help her in studies. He use to send her poem composed by him, Once he wrote her “

I cannot ease your aching heart,
Nor take your pain away,

But let me stay and take your hand,
And walk with you today!

I'll listen when you need to talk,
I'll wipe away your tears
I'll share your worries when they come;
I'll help you face your fears

I'm here and I will stand by you,
Each hill you have to climb
So take my hand, lets face the world,
Live one day at a time!
You're not alone, for I am still here
I'll go that extra mile

And when your grief is eased,
I'll help you learn to smile!

He kept on sending her poems and she loved reading them a lot but one day he wrote to her

As silent as sky,
With soft clouds rolling by
Who has peeped into my heart?

Darkness is over
May be forever
Like a sunshine
Touching the earth

Filled with joy;
My heart re-joys
The tender feeling of oneness
I melt and cheer
As Sorrow disappear

When you fold me in your arms and caress
Be with me, wherever

O my silent love divine
A dream come true
I rub my eyes to see that you are mine

From his poem she felt as if the other person behind the screen is getting attracted to her and she was able to make out of the talks which were getting passionate now, although she liked him but that doesn’t mean to get into any relationship. She thought of controlling situation at that very moment as she didn’t want to break anyone’s heart at later stage. She did not want to play with anyone’s emotions but neither does she want to loose his friendship which was genuine enough. She very genuinely mailed him what she her thoughts for him. He replied

I was cold and hurting
Lost out in the night
Wandering and searching
For heaven's light
I saw the night sky clearing
When you spread your rainbow wings
But little did I know
What joy you would bring
For that moment
a friendship did start
You wipe away my tears
And sheltered my heart
I blessed the day God
Sent him from above
But then I grow fearful
For I had fallen in love
I told you this feeling
As what did you say?
You said you like our friendship
And that’s how it will stay
I cried for friendship
I thought I lost
But then felt your warm, gentle hand
You then whispered in my ear
That by my side
You’ll forever stand

It continued for one and half year, they became best net pals, every weekend she use to come back from hostel share her college happenings with him, take advice on her subject matters, he use to share his office happenings and would give her every possible help in studies. If she is stuck up with any programming only resort for her was to contact him.

They exchanged their phone numbers but never did they call each other.
One day he disappeared from net totally, every weekend she use to log in to look for him but there was no trace of him. It started effecting her studies also, she was not able to concentrate in her college and looked lost somewhere, little did she realize that she is missing him badly. Every Saturday, Sunday she use to connect to internet every 10 or 15 minutes to find out his traces but he was no where.
She wondered whether he is not ill seriously or might have met with some accident, her thoughts were taking her no where. She thought of making him a phone call but could not take courage to do so. She use to wonder “Don’t know how he will feel or react to her phone call” as they never called each other. She didn’t knew what to do.

One fine day she took it no more and made her heart firm to make a phone call to him. Now there was a dilemma whether to give a call at residence number or office number, She felt it won't be good to call him at home phone so she decided she will call at office first as at home she might not be able to handle her parents asking any questions. May be she might come to know from office whether he is coming to office all these days or may be he is ill.
With sinking feeling, shaking fingers, she dialed number, cut it before it could be connected. Took a long breathe, gained back her courage, said to herself just a matter or few minutes and she will come to know the truth.

She dialed, phone was answered at fourth ring. "Hello" "who’s it" she heard a male voice, she can hear her heart beat growing faster and on knowing that it was no other than "him" on phone she almost scolded him, where was he all these days can't he inform her, leave her a mail or call her. Then she realized who she was to say all this. She felt embarrassed and kept a sudden mum, other person just managed to gave a little laughter and said sorry was very busy in office, some deliveries and all but don't worry will meet you online tomorrow. But he could feel the passion in her voice and she was surprised on her own gesture and feelings, she realized this isn't a normal feeling. She has developed a strange feeling towards him, she wants to be with him most of the time, want to talk to him all day. With all these feeling she went to sleep.

Few more online chats happened between both of them and then one day (after regular chatting of 3 years a question popped up)
He: If we are compatible to each other can we not stay together and spend our rest of the life together?
She: Is this possible?

Coffee aahaan.........

Today after lunch I felt too sleepy and above all I knew I don’t have any work to do before 5 p.m. it was really very difficult to keep my self awake. Although tried browsing net, peeping in fellow bloggers blog, went through some news sites but still felt drowsy. Then it clicked to me and I went to pantry to make a cup of coffee for me, and lo within seconds my drowsiness was gone and felt fresh. So what’s a big deal to it.

Every one of us know that coffee has high level of antioxidants and used by most of us to come out of fatigue or tiredness, students will definitely agree with me as it helps them to burn their night lamps. So I discovered nothing new :P

but what I did in my free time is I googled for coffee, it’s history, benefits, harms etc. This shows how IT people cannot survive without google search engine at all :D
Jokes apart going through the history I discovered few interesting things which I thought of sharing with you all guys (May be am too late to write and most of you must be knowing it already)
It was discovered even before 13th century and the name coffee was derived from the Arabic term Kahway or Gahwa.
Legend popular about coffee is that there was an Abyssinian goat herder whose name was Khalid. Khalid use to feel drowsy during afternoon due to sun’s effect and he discovered that his goats became hyperactive after eating some berries. So out of curiosity he too tried chewing some, he ate few berries whole and felt hyperactive as his herd, when his wife came to knew about his being energetic instead of normally exhausted one while returning back home she asked for the same and on knowing the reason for the same she urged his to share his wonderful discovery with local holy men in monastery. The chief monk their did not felt happy at Khalid’s discovery and declared the berries as “The work of the Devil”. He took berries from Khalid and threw them in the fire to banish their offending presence. Soon the room got filled with delicious aroma of roasted berries, and other monks too gathered there to discover the new delight.
The chief monk then picked up those smoldering berries, dissolved it in water and instructed other monks to take a sip of it. As soon as they drank it, they felt good and experienced clarity. The brew was proclaimed a miracle and was then used to keep them awake during their evening prayers.

According to another legend (The Arabian legend of Omar the Dervish) it is popular that Omar was well known for his ability to cure sick through prayers and medicines. Although not everyone agreed to this and eventually his enemies forced him to wander in the desert outside Yemenite port of Mocha. In his starvation days he happen to stumble over a bush with berries. Thinking it to be good sign by God he tried to eat those berries, but they were very bitter in taste, so he decided to roast them and placed them in boiling water, still he found beans were very bitter, so he drank the potion and he miraculously recovered his strength back. The word spread about Omar’s magic potion and people took his survival as a religious sign. Soon people were spreading word of the restorative powers of this amazing new drink. The plant and its beverage were named Mocha to honor this event, this is how coffee gets its name as mocha . Omar was eventually invited back to Mocha where he was made a saint.
It is believed that coffee plant grew naturally in Ethiopia and was later transplanted in Arabia. Arab people monopolized it. The tribes from Ethiopia doesn’t use it as drink but would wrap these beans in animal fat as their only source of nutrition while on raiding parties. The Turks were the first persons who adopted coffee as a drink but they use to add spices to it as clove, cinnamon, cardamom etc while brewing.
Coffee was introduced to other countries beyond Arabia in much later time as Arabian people took it as delicacy and didn’t allowed it to go anywhere else, they even use to guard its secret as if it is some top secret military plans. Its export was forbidden by Moslem Nation, The coffee actually spreaded illegally. Even in India it was smuggled by one Arab named Baba Budan, he smuggled it to some mountains near Mysore and started a farm there. Early in this century, the descendants of those original plants were found still growing fruitfully in the region.
There is also one belief that some Christians considered coffee as a devil’s drink. Pope Vincent III heard this and decided to taste himself. He found the beverage good that he baptized it saying “coffee is so delicious it would be a pity to let the infidels have exclusive use of it."
Anyways whatever be the reason, coffee is enjoyed worldwide and is good for health if taken in moderate quantity. Few of its benefits am listing here courtesy research on net
Ø As coffee helps you to keep regular so there is a possibility that it reduces risk of colon cancer by up to 25 percent.
Ø Two observational studies found that regular coffee intake reduced the risk of developing kidney stones
Ø Coffee has a compound called theophylline which acts as a bronchodilator which helps people with asthma to have up to 25 percent lesser symptoms
Ø Coffee may prevent some other diseases like cirrhosis of the liver, Parkinson’s disease, skin cancer and gallstones
Ø Okie one good thing I found on net is and strange too that coffee may help some people to loose weight as it may boost the number of calories you burn per hour by 4% (don’t know how much this point is true :D)
Ø Coffee may help to deal with jet lag also as it helps to shift the body’s natural time cycle after time zone changes as in case of long distance travels. It is recommended to drink coffee in morning when traveling to west and in late afternoon while traveling to east.
Ø Although people with high blood pressure must be careful with caffeine as it can rise up to 5 or even 10 millimeters of mercury. The amount depends on the individual and dose.
Oh I think enough of it, rest if interested read on net courtesy google search :D
I had a great time pass while writing about this and enjoyed writing it while sipping my cup of coffee
So coffee for you too?
Enjoy

A story so far....

It was her daily routine to browse net during night, whenever her dad went off to sleep she’ll connect net and get back to her routine. She has taken her mother in confidence and promised her to surf net every night just for one hour and not more than that as her dad was strictly against it. She had tried everything from chat room to movies website, from googling to e-greetings site. She had made few good friends also on net and then limited her chatting with those friends only. Now she don’t bother to go to chat rooms to chat with invisible people, she was bugged up with the first question asked by every Tom, Dick and Harry “Hi there, ASL please”
Now she always turn down any unknown friend request and then too her studies seriously. As it was high time now. Being eldest of three sisters and no brother expectations of her parents were high from her. They were proud of her as she always managed to grab good position in her class. She was considered the most sober, soft spoken and intelligent girl in her school and college. She had a dream to be at some top notch position one day, she wanted to do some professional course but her dad can afford only basic graduation and post graduation, He cannot spend more on professional coaching and all. She was compelled to give B-ed entrance, she gave it half heartedly, her bad luck she cleared it. On the day of counseling she pleaded her dad that she want to do some professional course and not B-ed. Her dad was adamant as he cannot afford fees for the professional course. On her name being called she started crying and rushed back home.
She got scolding from her dad, her mom tried to convince her dad to let her go for professional course. That year government had introduced Voluntary Retirement scheme for bank employees, her dad grabbed the opportunity and took VRS. He said now you can go for your professional course. She was the most happiest person on earth. So took admission and went to stay in hostel. Although she was missing her family a lot but still she was happy that she is going to achieve what she dreamt off.
During weekends she use to come back home and then use to follow her old routine, browsing during night. Talking with her virtual friends who had become her best pals, with whom she use to share her happiness and sorrows.
One fine day a new messenger was launched. Just for the heck of trying she downloaded, now she wanted to test it also, so was looking in the list to find out a suitable person with whom she can talk. But suddenly a message popped from him. “Hi there”. As she was also looking for someone to talk and test messenger she responded. Although the moment she logged on to new messenger she started getting so many hello messages from unknown people, but she had already responded to Him, so she kept on declining others invitation.
The other person on the end sounded so informal that she liked talking to him. He never asked "ASL please"They talked for an hour and still none of them asked each other’s age or location. She was wondering if that person is quite old in age or may be very younger than her. But never mind she liked talking to him. In between he got some mail, he had applied for some job and he got that job. He asked her to hold on as he wanted to share this news first with his parents, but asked her not to leave. She waited and he came back after 10 mins. He sounded so excited. He said he got a job as General Manager in some company. She gave her best wishes but then wondered she is in her first year of her course and the other person whom she is talking to is GM now, will it be good to talk to him. Anyways they bid goodbye and went back to sleep.

New Begining

Its been very long time I have written something meaningful. Just few updates, going on vacations , coming back from the same kind of posts. Even today I don’t have much to write, don’t know but life has become monotonous and tiring, Want to take time for myself, for family but don’t know where the time is. Sometimes wonder is this the life we dreamt off??
Both of us hardly get time to talk, such a busy and fast life that being in office sometimes ping each other to talk whenever we get some 5 or 10 mins free, No time to pursue our interests or hobbies, Cooking just to satisfy hunger and not for pleasure, only weekends we do get some time to spare. But still feel two days are too less to rest, as have to do all the pending chores of week days.
It’s new year now and haven’t made any resolutions this year, neither do I think Sachin made any. This reminds me of last year post by Sachin, where he made some resolutions, Let me go through it and see what have we achieved out of it:
http://preetisachins.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html

“Things which remain unaccomplished .... And to accomplish in 2006
Yet to channel-ise career goals
Create fund to buy a House by Dec 2007
Manage finances more professionally
Try and reduce 6 kg atleast
Start a workout R-E-G-U-L-A-R-L-Y
Be regular with this blog “

Now 2007 is here :
Career Goals, Still not steady on the same
Fund: Not achieved
Manage Finances: Yes we have achieved that
Weight reduce????? Whats that :D Okie Sachin did reduced some but am the same
Workout: Forget the spelling even
Regular with blog: Still trying

Overall A good year So here we both welcome Year 2007
With a hope that this year will bring satisfaction in all aspects. A wish all of you may gain wealth, health and prosperity.

So Friends A very Happy new year to all of you.
PS: Pic has nothing to do with my current mood, one moment am stressed , other am happy and fine, just was googling to get image for TGIF and landed on this, full credits to it's owner, source of the image can be viewed here

happenings

Saturday and Sunday was full of shopping apart from the house cleaning abhiyaan.Saturday Got up late on saturday (naya kya hai :D)So got up at 10 a.m. , had breakfast and slept back at 12 p.m. why???? after all it is weekend isn't it :DGot back at 3:30 p.m. Cleaned home religously till 5 p.m. and were exhausted like anything. Reached Farrer Park at 7:30 p.m. and were joined by few friends for dinner, Searched for vacant tables in nearby restuarants....and were successful by 10:15 p.m.(Weekend Again :P) After having dinner we started our shopping in mustafa, entered mustafa at 11:30 p.m. (sounds funny isn't it) Got out of mustafa at 1:30 p.m. with just one suitcase :D empty ofcourse. We purchased a suitcase to carry our luggage to india, and on billing counter that lady greeted us by saying goodmorning maam, had to see my watch (1:30 a.m. oh yah morning :P)We all had tea outside mustafa and were exhausted like anything so thought of buying other things next day, so came back home watched TV till 4 a.m. and went to sleep at 4 a.m. Sunday:Got up at 10 a.m. again, had breakfast, cleaned home, did laundry and left home with shopping spree at 2 p.m. So went to Simlim Square first, had some electronics items and oh yes Sachin got me a new camera tooThen we went to china town, beautifully decorated street, that street is called lucky chinatown, But the thing is we have to walk a lot to find out things of our interest. One can be easily fascinated with all goodies there and is hard to decide what to buy and what not to buy. Had few of the japanese fans, some watches, merlin symbols, softtoys for kiddos there, some tit bits and then thought of buying things next weekend as it was already 9 p.m. now, So in all it was a fun-filled, but tiring weekend :)

Quick update

It's almost 18 days since I have written anything. The schedule is actually getting tighter and tougher to handle.Today looks a little strange as I have no work to do and sitting idle in office , looking around to cheeni- japanis ( as Sachin calls them ) . Then my favorite thing to do, what else then read blogs and write something to connect to you all ..
Ah, weekend is here and TGIF , so excited as 14 days to go . .. and horrified by the state of house which needs monstrous cleaning .. Hopefully this Saturday would be the Salvation Day for my house
Kitchen cabinets need to arranged up, pile of clothes need to be ironed, dusting and mopping.. me getting jitters just thinking about it . So if u guys happen to pass by our house and see panchoo dhobi and shanta bai attire on both of us pls bear with us
14 days to go from today to India.. this would be a short vacation but much desired one .. then we would meet our best pals ..sidds and garima and then parents .. cannot wait ..lah ( as u say it in singaporian)
Sachin's b'day happens to be on 20th dec and mine 3rd jan, but won't be able to celebrate with family as going just 2 days after his and coming back one day before mine.... so singapore we are here to celebrate our b'days..... anyways when we are with family and freinds .. all days would be a party in india

All in all very busy , very excited and all charged up for exciting one month to follow ..

Life In Singapore.....

It's been a long while any post come up from us. All we have posted for last few months is little bit happenings in life, or we are coming back kind of posts :P, although wanted to post a lot but first didn't had net access at home, then joined a job (A week ago) so couldn't get time for this. Have missed everyone's comments and of course missed reading all of your posts. But now am covering that by reading posts one by one of all you guys.
As all of you know we have shifted to Singapore some 3 months back. So facing lot of changes in life, job, daily routine. After coming to Singapore one biggest change of our life is "Me and Sachin have become active :D " Jokes apart, seriously we have to walk a lot be it for going to office, or for shopping or even going to local grocery shop. When we were in India both of us were dependent on our lovable car, wherever we had to go, we just took out our car and headed towards it. Be it our office or a shop located at 50 meters from our apartment :P I don't remember we ever used bus or auto's for traveling there, But now car is beyond our capacity to afford here, car's parking is much costlier than the fuel here :D
Thank goodness transport system here is worlds best, so traveling is much easier and now don't feel bad that we don't own a vehicle here. MRT systems and buses are really good here. Singapore is most people friendly nation, so they have taken care of every minute needs of people and made life easy. Now I feel our goal to reduce weight is not far away :D In India I remember only place I used to walk was from my apartment floor to lift gate, from ground floor lift till car, Get down at office gate, walk till lift and be seated at my place and same while coming back :D
I guess we'll be fitter while we'll come back to India.

Feels Good :D

Other major change in life, LIFE has become very BUSY. Hardly get time and now I understand the actual meaning of TGIF Where we eagerly wait for weekends so that we can get up at 10 am. My day starts here at 6:30 a.m. I never thought I will ever get up so early in my life, even for exams also I never got up so early :D
And then we cannot afford maids here so all work is done by us only.
Even we don't get dhobi's here so have to iron our clothes ourself. :D Life became hectic.

Unlike India don't have the lunch facility in office, so have to prepare lunch in morning, then rush for MRT, it takes 1 hour for me to reach office, Sachin is lucky his office is at
20 mins run. MRT system is amazing here. But one can see the same amount of rush during the office hours, but still I wonder how people manage to walk without knocking anyone :D, without pushing in trains, :D:D

Amazing thing is people don't honk horns on traffic lights, infact I don't remember if I had heard any horn voice in last 3 months here :D People are patient enough to wait for there turn. People are punctual for time, reach office sharp at 9 a.m. and leave dot at 6 p.m. :D They don't stretch like Indians, and in my office as 75% are Indians they still sit stretch till 6:30 p.m. or 7 p.m.

FOOD IS HORRIBLE HERE
This place is not at all meant for vegetarians. Veggi's cannot survive here until and unless they know cooking and cook for themselves.
People here eat weird food, that stinks also. And when our neighbors are on cooking spree, we have to close our windows and doors :D
(People usually do not cook here and therefore that explains huge chain of food courts here)
Although we do have some Indian restaurant here but they have limited things on veggie menu and yes VERY EXPENSIVE too And yes even when buying vegetables, one has to look again and again to find out what vegetable is this, hardly find good Indian vegetables

One thing we learnt here is FISH IS CONSIDERED AS VEGETARIAN FOOD
Howcome don't ask me ;)
We feel strange too

So make sure on your visit here, don't end up eating fish sandwich, if u ask or pay for vegetarian sandwich :P

Place is very neat and clean and to find dust here is almost impossible

While taking a home on rent here common trend is you get a fully furnished house with all the necessities you can think of. other thing I liked here is people are very generous and courteous. If you happen to look into eyes of other person (who is completely stranger to you) It is expected that both of you should greet each other with smile.
(If this practice you follow in India, and some guy do this to any good looking girl he will definitely end up with some chappals :D)
So people keep on greeting others in lift, trains or buses, malls, etc.
Coming to malls, huge is the word I got to say Amazing

Oh yes I forgot to mention about the number of escalators in MRT stations. The total number of escalators in one MRT interchange must be much more than total number of escalators in India.

As I told this place is people friendly and is most disabled friendly nation. You will find lifts, escalators, walk ways at every 50 mtr distance in the interchange. Then special phones are installed for disabled people who sit in wheelchair for their convenience. Everywhere you will find ramps for wheelchairs.

One thing you will definitely notice is number of mobile users here, be it a train or bus, mall or road, you will find people walking with earphone plugged in their ears, listening to songs and phone in their hands. If not listening to songs then definitely typing sms messages.
Here person gets his or her first hand phone at the age of 5 , isn't that strange, school kids taking mobiles in their prep class. If it is a family of 4, all four will be having individual phones :P
And yes all of them having trendy mobiles, kids having PDA too
:(
Another thing noticeable here is people like reading a lot. You will catch people reading novels and other books in MRT, even if they don't get seat to sit, still they will be reading while standing, walking also.
Height I have seen is a kids mom is shopping in a mall, kid is walking along with from one floor to another but reading a book while walking :D
now what shall I say about that kid :P

Eating a bubblegum is a criminal offence here, and you are not suppose to give tips to waiter or else you will land up in soup
There are very good places from tourist point of view, which I will mention in my next post, abhi ke liyey itna hi, I guess I wrote quite a long post this time :D

We will be back soon .... :)

Ahh this is what I hate saying but I have too that we are taking leave from blogdom for few months..........
Hope you guys won't forget us by the time we come back with bang, lots of new things to share, talk and show.....

I have somehow started loving this space so much that my day in office starts with all ur posts and the comments u leave on ours.... It has some how become a routine task to open up my blog then switch over to all you people blogs, see whats new, which one is updated, the one which is not updated, requesting them to update it soon, then other fever orkut and to chat with you guys.

I would be out as both of us would be in a transition state for next month and a half . I would have deffered access to net so won't be able to update it as frequently

Am oops rather we going to miss it a lot.

Hope you guys will miss us also :P

Okie guys won't say bbye, but will say we'll be back soon
